Interracial Marriage in Hollywood: A Thought

I was thinking about an article I read recently about Robin Thicke and this new sub-genre called “blue-eyed soul” (basically white R&B artist). I guess to an extent Justin Timberlake and Fergie could fit into those categories. While I like some of Robin Thicke’s music, I have to say I think he’s a bit overrated. But that’s not the point of this post.

The article eventually changes focus and talks about his wife, who is a black actress. I guess this was mentioned to add to his R&B credibility-not sure. But it certainly made me think: 1. A large number of black men and women in Hollywood are married to non-black partners. I don’t want this post to focus on black men. This is not a black men rant. However, relatively few white men in Hollywood are married to non-white women, and significantly fewer white women in Hollywood are married to non-white men. Now of course you have your Heidi Klums and Robert DeNiros, but I’m generalizing. Is this merely a coincidence? I think not…
